The first point is that losing weight fast can be done. Many have done it, particularly on low-carb diets like Atkins where ketosis (when your body converts fats to energy) is involved. Losing weight fast can also occur by engaging in near-starvation techniques.

The problem with such ‘losing weight fast’ techniques is that most of the weight you’re losing is muscle. What I do offer is some tips on healthy methods you can use to lose as much fat weight as possible in as short a time as possible. Losing weight fast does little good if it’s not fat, and this is an important distinction. Losing weight for healthy fat loss means a maximum of a few pounds per week, while setting up habits that will allow you to continue to lose rather than short-term ecstasy followed by another bout of frustration and depression.

If you’re willing to commit to it, here are some tips concerning what you can do to look and feel markedly better in the next couple of months:

Whip your calorie-burning mechanism.

This means speed up your metabolism, and the best way to do that is to get your body accustomed to burning calories quickly by feeding it frequently. You will get great results with 6 small meals a day, and if you decide – for example – that you are going to take in 1800 calories a day, then you’re looking at small portions of 300 calories each meal. Note that you should not be taking in less than 1200 calories per day since you increase your risk of depleting muscle as you get lower in this range.

Don’t just eat frequently, eat well.

Obviously, if you need to lose weight quickly you know that you need to limit your amount of fat intake, particularly the saturated fats found in foods like ice cream, cookies, chocolate and fatty parts of the cow and the pig (steak, hamburgers, bacon, ham, etc). You will want to replace them with lean proteins (fish, chicken, turkey, etc), complex carbohydrates (whole grain bread, oatmeal, potatoes, green vegetables) and unsaturated fats (fish, avocados, nuts). Your carbohydrates should comprise about 50% of your diet, proteins should be around 30%, and fats should be 20% or less.

Sweat it out.

Aerobic exercise (meaning that which maintains an elevated heart rate) is crucial to fat loss, and if you need to lose the fat faster then you will need to do it more often than average. This means 6 or even 7 days of the week, for 45 minutes or so each day. The best aerobic exercises include cycling (without stopping), jogging, or using equipment like an elliptical machine, a stairclimber, a rowing machine, or a cross-country ski machine.

Burn more calories while sleeping.

The way to do this is to build more muscle, so you’re going to want to do some weight training. Doing workouts 3 or 4 days a week, 30 minutes each day will increase your lean body mass and charge your metabolism even further. This means more calories burned and more fat loss, particularly in the long term.

If you think that this sounds like too much work, I urge you to ignore these tips and try the low-carb/starvation alternatives mentioned above. You presumably won’t be too surprised when you join the millions who have adopted the ‘losing weight fast’ mindset and temporarily lightened the burden on their scales, only to return shortly to the exact place they started at.

How to Lose Weight?

For those of us who lead busy lives losing weight can seem difficult to achieve. Health advisors suggest that a sensible way to lose weight is to increase the amount of daily exercise. In their publication, The Step Diet, Hill et al. suggest that over 2000 steps a day will significantly contribute to a reduction in weight. (Hill et al., 2004: 2). This is a useful method as it is doesn’t cost anything and can be incorporated into your daily routine. Diet pills and regimes are not advisable as they can precipitate dramatic weight loss, which can cause you more problems – such as skin problems and hair loss. In the worst case scenario they can cause you to gain weight – as any sudden change in the metabolic rate can mean that when you start eating normally again you pile back on the pounds.

If exercise alone is difficult then a balanced regime of exercise and reduced calorie intake – bearing in mind the maxim ‘little and often’ – is a good way to approach losing weight. It is generally believed that eating three smaller regular meals, with morning and afternoon snacks in between, is the best way to lose weight. Regular eating maintains a balanced sugar level in the blood, preventing hunger and helps us to avoid overeating. This has the effect of speeding up the metabolic rate so your body breaks food down more quickly to turn it into energy. “Ideally, eat something small (even a piece of fruit) every 3 hours (women) or every 5 hours (men)” (Collins, 2005).

Another timeless way to lose weight – and one that will save you money – is to increase your daily intake of water. This is important as dehydration can mean that you don’t reap the full benefits of your efforts to lose weight. Enough water is considered to be at least two litres a day (Biggs, 2006). If you don’t drink enough then your metabolism will shut down first causing your weight loss to slow right down; your digestion will suffer; and you might experience ‘fake hunger’ symptoms (Biggs 2006) .

It is important to remember that some people lose weight more easily than others because of their body’s ability to burn fat. One of the most effective ways to burn fat is through cardio-vascular exercise which increases the heart rate sufficiently – for example, aerobics or running. This form of exercise is more effective than, say for example, weight lifting or light walking, which are good muscle-toning activities helping to reduce the appearance of fat. However, if you simply don’t have time to go to an aerobics class or the space in your own home, then other forms of exercise are still effective. Jon Shepherd, from Ultra-FIT magazine, explains:
“You won’t burn so many calories weight training, but the potential effect it will have on your body composition and metabolic rate are significant. The table illustrates the differences in calorie reduction between various activities. It is important to find the right kind of exercise to suit you. For most people, walking is the easiest and most effective form of exercise. Ann Bolger, M.D., a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association (AHA) says, ‘exercising is like taking the pennies from under the couch cushions and putting them into your piggybank,’ in that every little bit counts.’ (Meadows 2003: 18). There are many small ways of increasing the amount of walking in your day. For example, if you have a dog, or someone in your family or a friend has a dog, then try to find the time each day to take it for a brisk half-hour walk. If you’re lucky to live a mile or so away from work then get up a bit earlier and walk instead of catching the bus. Even parking a bit further away when you go shopping can make a difference.

So this is all about what to do outside the home. But what about when you come back from a day at work and you want to relax? You can contribute to your efforts to lose weight by the way you cook: using unsaturated vegetable oils, and oils such as corn, olive, or soyabean makes a significant difference to your fat intake. Snacks too can be swapped for healthier, lower fat options such as sesame snaps; Ryvita, or a piece of fruit.
(Meadows 2003: 18). Many of us like to relax with a glass of wine in front of the TV – but there are other more weight-loss-effective ways of relaxation. Try substituting your daily glass of wine (110 calories) or half bottle (250 calories) for a session of meditative yoga. In this way you can reduce calorie intake, and exercise and relax all at the same time, and it doesn’t cost you a penny. “Yoga also offers psychological benefits. As Baxter Bell, a graduate of Piedmont Yoga Studio’s Advanced Studies Program, says:
Weight gain often brings with it a great deal of harsh self-judgment. Through yoga, we can counteract this by creating a safe, positive environment to reconnect with our bodies and quiet the counterproductive messages that often arise in our minds.

If the traditional more-exercise-less-calories method doesn’t work then look into alternative ways to lose weight. Dieting is a very hard thing to do. First you must commit yourself to modify the diet or current way you eat, which if not an easy task. Statistics on dieting are not good, so how can we find a diet that is easy and will lose weight and lose weight healthy.

There are many good diet plans out on the market today. The South Beach Diet is a very popular healthy diet plan, there is the Negative Calorie Diet, which in my opinion is also a healthy way of eating.

Here are some important tips on dieting:

1. Do not ever skip breakfast, your breakfast gets your metabolism going, especially after a good nights sleep. Eat a healthy diet, like whole grain cereals, protein based foods that are low in fat, lowfat yogurt, etc.

2. Drink plenty of water, for one drinking a lot of water keeps you feeling full and less hungry, drink less soda and coffee and definitely less alcohol as all of those can add significant calories to your daily intake.

3. Make sure you watch your carbohydrate and calorie intake. Make sure you keep track of your intake. Carbohydrates need to be kept low, as well as eating good carbs such as fruits and vegetables, stay away from your refined sugars, flours and processed foods.

4. Take your time, don’t try to rush losing weight, lose weight healthy means lose weight slow, plus if you do it the right way, you will keep the weight off. Many people who lose weight to rapidly, as soon as they shift their eating habits back they put the weight back on quickly and usually a lot more weight than they originally lost. What happens when you lose weight to rapidly your metabolism will slow down, it slows down the rate we burn energy to survive. A resistance is built up which is called homeostasis, for example when our body heats up, we sweat, which is the response designed to cool down, this is homeostasis. Being overweight in the summer heat is no fun. And exposing a fat stomach or fat thighs isn’t exactly pleasant when everyone else around you is wearing gnat-sized beachwear and drizzling oil onto wasp-like abdomens. In fact, for people carrying excess weight, summer can be an unpleasant trial involving countless opportunities for embarassment and discomfort. So let’s take a look at how you can reduce some of your fat and make next summer a happier experience. But first, a warning.

Summer Weight Loss Trap

One guaranteed way to fail is to look for a “short cut” weight loss method or diet. You know what I mean: the type of program that promises “a fast effortless way to reduce weight”. In my experience, none of these diets or pills actually work, and the medical evidence is quite clear: the maximum rate of sustainable fat loss is between 1 and 2 pounds per week, perhaps a little more if you are obese. Besides, if a brilliant scientist did manage to concoct a formula for rapid effortless weight reduction, overnight he would be more famous than Einstein. He certainly wouldn’t be peddling his program in 30-second TV infommercials or mail-order advertisements. So for the sake of your sanity as well as your financial health, don’t waste time on weight loss methods that make extravagant claims. If you don’t believe this, think of any of your overweight friends who favor the short-term “lose 20 pounds in two weeks” type of approach, and ask yourself why they are still overweight.

Three Month Summer Diet Plan

You can’t lose much weight in a week or two. You need about three months to make a significant impact on your body shape. Remember, the human body is interested in survival, not cosmetic appearances, and since rapid weight loss is a prima facie symptom of disease not good health, the only guaranteed way to improve your body shape is to adopt a gradual approach of healthy eating and increased exercise. In three months, you can lose about 26 pounds – more than enough for most overweight people to experience noticeable health improvements as well as a much leaner body. And by reducing your weight gradually in this manner, you have far less chance of weight regain, so if necessary you can continue losing more with less danger of incurring a weight loss plateau or other obstacle.

You Need A Motive

Whether you’re trying to lose weight for the summer, save money or pass exams, an important piece of the motivational jigsaw is your ability to be positive about making short term sacrifices. The choice is fairly simple: you can focus on the “deprivation” involved in giving up certain foods, or you can focus on the benefits you will get by not eating these foods. Sadly, many dieters focus on feeling deprived. After a while they see their diet as a burden, a bore, an evil necessity. This is why so many of them quit. They can’t “see” the benefits that weight loss will bring them. “Trying” To Lose Weight? Don’t!

If you are, STOP!

Funny thing to say coming from someone that wants to help you lose all the weight you want, right?

Actually, there’s a good reason.

You see, you can’t try to lose weight. Don’t believe me?

OK, let’s use an example. Look around where you are sitting right now and find a small object. Perhaps a pen, envelope or book. Got it?

Now, try to pick it up. Go ahead.

Is it in your hand? If it is, well, then you didn’t try, you actually picked it up. If it’s not in your hand, you didn’t.

Simple, right?

There’s no middle ground in doing. You can’t “try” to do anything, it’s a fallacy. You either do it, or don’t do it.

The same applies to losing weight (or anything else for that matter). Saying that you’ll try gives your mind fuzzy instructions, and it will return fuzzy results, results that aren’t what you really want. It also gives you a “way out” if you don’t achieve the goals you set out to reach.

You see, your subconscious mind doesn’t interpret your directions, it just goes to work following them as complete truth. When you say you’ll “try to lose weight”, it will “try” to follow your instructions, which we now know is impossible.

What in fact you want, (if you really do) is to lose weight. To feel better. To have more energy. To overcome health challenges. To look great.

Now, if you say you want to lose weight and are not successful, or continue to use language that includes words like “try” or “we’ll see” or “maybe”, perhaps you’re wired backwards.

What does that mean? Well, maybe you say that you want to lose weight, but your mind says it doesn’t. Somewhere along the way you gave your mind instructions that it’s too hard, or impossible, to lose the weight you want. Perhaps you’re more comfortable where you are now, but know that it’s the right thing to say that you want to lose weight.

If this is the case, ask yourself what beliefs you hold that are at odds with what you want. For example, “it’s too hard to lose weight”, “it’s impossible to lose weight”, “I can’t lose weight because I’d have to exercise all the time”, “I’ll lose my friends if I lose weight”, “I can’t lose weight because I’ve always failed”.

Ask yourself if in fact they are true. Are they making your life easier, or more difficult? Do these beliefs serve you or harm you?

Then, replace the old beliefs with new ones. Positive, confident statements about how you want to look and feel.

The best way to lose weight is to avoid saying you’ll “try” to lose weight, and say you “will” lose weight. See yourself at your ideal weight. Imagine how great you look and feel. Use positive language and give your mind specific instructions like “I’m now happily at my ideal weight of (number of pounds) weight” or “I now happily choose to wear a size (your ideal size)”.

Watch your language and self talk closely and avoid using “try”. It may take constant attention at the beginning, but after a short time, you’ll get used to keeping your language positive, upbeat and confident.

Your weight loss results will follow immediately, depending on how confident, committed and persistent you are in applying these exercises. The more confident, committed and persistent, the faster your results will appear.

How To Get Skinny After Pregnancy

I’m going to show you how to get skinny after pregnancy. If you’re struggling with pregnancy weight gain, relax… it’s not as touch as you’d think to get rid of. Here are 4 simple rules to follow. Following them will get you skinny.

First, I’d like to congratulate you on the birth of your baby. Now however, it’s time for me to show you how to get skinny.

Rule #1: Move around more

Yeah, it’s boring when said like that. But do this. Get a mini-trampoline ($25 at Wal-Mart) and jump on it for 2 minutes at a time. If you watch tv, do it during commercials. Did you know each 1 hour tv show has about 22 minutes of commercials. So there’s 22 minutes of working out without making you more busy or forcing you to block out 30-60 minutes to workout. You get 2 things done at once. Make it three… you also get skinny.

Rule #2: Eat more meals, just smaller meals

This helps speed up your metabolism while making your digestive system way more efficient in pulling out important nutrients for you and expelling the useless wastes. Like the rule above, it accomplishes 2 things at once. It’ll also cut down on your cravings since you won’t have fluctuating blood sugar levels due to big meals.

Rule #3: Eat a big breakfast

Oh, wait… didn’t I just say to eat small meals above? Yes I did. And you can still eat a small breakfast if you want, but if you’re to eat a big meal, make sure it’s at breakfast time so you have time to burn off all the calories later in the day.

Also, by having your big meal in the morning, you’re “front loading” your calories. This helps you to eat less and snack less later in the day. The best choice for breakfast would be 3-4 scrambled eggs with 1/2 a can of black beans.

It’s high in fiber and protein… which is exactly what you need for breakfast.

Rule #4: Snack strategically

With my clients, I’ve found that their snacking seems to hurt their weight loss efforts more than their meals. So let’s take care of this right now for you as well. For snacks, I want you to eat only the following foods… low calorie yogurt, baby food puree, apples, grapefruit, 10 black olives, a slice of cheese wrapped around a dill pickle, string cheese, or red grapes. That’s it!

Like so many of us, you’re not happy with your body. Whether you have a larger than normal midsection or you just plain want to lose weight, but don’t know where to start, getting skinny fast can be a tricky business. The Myth of the Get Skinny Diet

Ah, yes– the fabled “get skinny” diet.  It’s that one magical formula that, if followed step by step, will grant its wielder the fabulous, rock-hard body they’ve always dreamed of.  Under the skinny diet’s fully-satiating spell, pounds will melt off effortlessly, five at a time.  Muscles will form and chisel, bringing to mind images of Greek statues.  Thighs will firm, buttocks will lift, and biceps will reach for the sky.  At long last, the dieter will be granted the gift of “skinny.”

When so romanticized, the idea seems ridiculous.  Of course no such “skinny diet,” exists.  People don’t expect those kinds of results from a diet.

Oh, but they do.

It’s why weight loss has ballooned into a billion dollar industry.  People, perhaps on an unconscious level, desperately want to believe that the next five-minute exercise routine will be the one that works.  That the next bottle of herbal supplements will be the one that trumps their fat cells and makes them skinny.  Diets, exercise gadgets, powerful liquid vitamin formulas, meal replacement bars, gym memberships, exercise videos.  They all promise the same thing (and so rarely deliver): a one way ticket to thin-dom.

All of those gadgets, gizmos, tricks, and shortcuts are doomed to fail.  Without immense willpower, the average American fights a losing battle against their weight, simply because they’re fighting the wrong adversary: they’re fighting the symptom, not the cause, of their problem.

It’s a well-known fact that we put on weight when we eat more calories than we burn.  So, when we realize that the scale is creeping up on us, we go against everything in our nature and struggle to ignore our hunger and eat less.  We go hungry when our body is screaming at us to eat.  We work out on the treadmill like madmen (and women), and for what?  A net loss of half a pound at the end of the week?

Why not attack the root of the problem rather than the symptom– the hunger rather than the habit of overeating?

The Secret To Weight Loss (Part 1)

I hate reading titles like the one you just read. I only titled it that way to get your attention. But to be honest, I have discovered a secret to weight loss that can change your life forever, if you are open and ready to change.

Most of you that read this will more than likely skim through the article, think to yourself how you already know most of what is said, close the webpage and go on with your life. If that’s you, this entry isn’t meant for you. I’m writing this for those people that find it next to impossible to lose weight. Those people that think they’ll always be fat because they don’t have enough self control, will power, or desire. This is for those people that that feel like losing weight is an uphill struggle, a hopeless quest for an imaginary goal.

Why am I qualified to reveal this secret? Let me begin by saying that I am someone who has not only been there, I am still there. 5 months ago my life changed and I’ve been losing weight ever since. So far I’ve lost 50 pounds and I’ve been going to the gym 3 days a week too. During this time I have had a chance to figure out a lot of things, and the secret to weight loss is one of the things I have learned. So, if you will, sit back and read this advice and if you’re ready for it, let’s begin.

Ancient Proverb:

* The Journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step.

So let’s begin with the basic fundamental truth. Your current situation and size is the realization of your past decisions. The foods we eat either contribute to weight gain or help lose weight. Each day we make the choice to gain more weight or lose weight by deciding what foods we eat. So step 1 is the easiest step of all. And yes, this is what I did, and yes it did help.

1) Your new lifestyle begins by devoting 2 weeks to eating whatever you want and as much of it as you want.

If you want to eat chocolate for every meal go for it. Don’t hold back, if you want it, eat it. You won’t gain that much weight; you’ll only get rid of the “forbidden fruit” mentality. Setting your mind free is the most important step. You will quickly see that food isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

2) After your 2 weeks are up, step on a scale, take measurements of your waist, hips, bust, biceps, thighs, etc. These numbers don’t mean anything. They are just a tool to determine your next step.

3) Write down a goal weight. Set a target weight and target date. Make a chart like this:

Begin by writing the target date down with a statement. (Ex. I will weigh xxx pounds by January 1, 2007). Next take your total weight loss amount and divide it by 10. So if you want to lose 80 pounds you would divide that by 10 and get 8. All you have to do is lose 8 pounds 10 times and you’ve reached your goal.

So let’s say your beginning weight is 250 pounds and you want to weigh 170. That’s 80 pounds. Make 10 boxes below your weight/date statement. Each box represents 8 pounds. Every time you lose 8 pounds, mark off a box like you do when marking off a calendar day. Each time you lose 8 pounds, you’re 10% closer to your goal. Give yourself something each time you cross off a box. Maybe a new outfit, take a vacation day from work, go see an old friend, something you’ve been putting off that you really want to do. Write these things down in the box so you don’t forget. This gives you incentive to lose the weight.

4) Begin!

The hardest part of any weight loss is getting started. That first step can seem impossible. That’s why you’ve already gone through 3 steps that weren’t too difficult. You’ve already picked up some steam and you can use that as inspiration to take this next step.

I began by choosing a way of eating I could live with for life. That’s important. I use a mixture of a few different plans that work for me. I like eating less carbs and more proteins, which also helps me in the gym too, as protein is needed to achieve muscle gain. When it comes to diets most work IF you can stick to them, unfortunately most diets don’t work because they are next to impossible to stay on.

After you have found a new way of eating, you can begin. Wake up with the mindset of eating right. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to begin. Also, make sure you start taking some vitamins and supplements. I’m trying out some right now that I may end up selling in the future; I’ll let you know how that goes. In the mean time, take some vitamins, even a cheap daily from Wal-Mart will do for now.

5) At the end of the week, weigh in and see what the scale says. If you lost some weight, great, keep doing what you’re doing. If you didn’t, that’s great too! You’ve grown closer to finding what foods are preventing you from losing weight. When the new week starts, decide on ONE thing you’re going to change and change it. I was eating chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing for the first few months and I consistently didn’t lose as much weight as I’d have liked to. So, when I’d lost some weight and found new foods that I liked, I stopped eating them. I haven’t had wings now in almost 3 months. The funny thing is that if I had tried to quit them from day 1, I probably wouldn’t have stayed on the plan. Like the Bill Murray movie “What About Bob” Baby Steps are the key.

Ok, these steps are enough to get you stared. Remember that each week you’re not trying to lose all the weight, you’re just trying to lose something. If you ever feel tempted by certain foods, you can give in and eat them if you want, just be prepared to not lose weight that week. If that’s what you want, that’s fine, but remember the consequences. As you continue on each week, your will power will grow stronger because you’ll have lost some weight.

The important thing is to get started! And with this plan it’s easy! For two weeks eat anything you want and get all the cravings out of you. You’ll be tired of your favorite foods by the time you begin, trust me.

Gym Goers Biggest Fat Loss Mistake; Weight Loss is Harder When Your Workouts are Wrong

Daily, people from across the gym to lose weight. Their fat loss goals range from small (5-10 pounds) to enormous (100+ pounds). Weight loss isn’t as hard as people think, when done right. However, the people looking to lose weight make a huge mistake that could make fat loss next to impossible.

When trying to lose weight and experience fat loss, the goal is to burn calories. People run on the treadmill for hours to lose fat and hop on the elliptical forever hoping to lose weight. While that may not be optimal, I will discuss why that won’t help you lose weight later.

Today I want to talk about lifting weights for weight loss and fat loss.

Yup, I said it. To lose weight and have fat loss, you need to lift weights. This may sound odd to some people, because it’s engrained in our minds that cardio equals fat loss. You’re supposed to lose weight on the treadmill and gain strength and size with weights.

That’s mistake number one for fat loss, but it’s up there. So, to lose weight you must lift weight. Don’t go too heavy and stick to 12-15 reps. That’s optimum for weight loss.

Now here’s the huge fat loss mistake: When trying to lose weight, people rest way to much. People are trying to lose weight, but they rest four minutes in between sets, get their heart rate down, and don’t burn as many calories.

When exercising for weight loss, I recommend you do circuits of compound movements, like lunges, squats, curl to presses, push ups, etc. Also, it’s tough to lose weight just using machines. If you’re trying to lose weight, you need to burn calories, like I said. It’s harder to experience weight loss when you’re resting so much.

I use this example when I talk to people about weight loss. If you’re trying to lose fat and you jump on a treadmill, you don’t go for three minutes, jump off, rest, then go back for more, do you? For weight loss, it’s impossible and doesn’t make sense.

Then, if you are trying to lose weight, would you lift weights like that? It’s counter productive, especially for fat loss!

If I could get one point across to people looking for weight loss, it would be to rest less while lifting weights (and it’s essential to lift weights if you want fat loss). People trying to lose weight waste so much time at the gym it’s insane.

To lose weight, you don’t have to be at the gym for 90 minutes. The technique of shortening your rest for fat loss will speed up your workout, keep your heart rate up and get you to lose fat easier.

Weight loss is simple. People make weight loss so much harder when they rest too much, If you want weight loss, hit the treadmill, eat right, and, most importantly, rest less!

    I have, like you, read lots of advertisements that make all kinds claims: like magic pills, complicated eating and exercise plans that claim to lose weight fast! Is this possible? Can we lose weight fast or is this a scam?

    How would you like to lose twenty pounds of fat and keep it off forever?

    First, can we lose weight fast?

    Our popular culture would have us believe that the best way to lose weight is to lose it fast. This means putting ourselves in a state of denial and adhering to an eating regime that is usually unsustainable. Today, advertisers spend billions to show you how to get and eat fast foods, then they spend millions trying to convince you that you can lose weight fast. They tell you that you can lose decades of fat build retention in thirty days if you buy their products.

    A lot of this marketing to lose the excess weight has been focused on eating carbohydrates and eliminating meat and protein from our diet. Perhaps we should all be vegetarians and just eat greens! It makes sense on a basic level, particularly when you look at our over eating, carbohydrate driven, fast food culture. However I personally have always thought there was something missing in the vegetarian ideals but I never new what it was. That is, until I heard Dr. Donald Layman speak.

    According to Dr. Layman, the acknowledged worldwide expert in metabolism research, eating good protein is not the problem – in fact it is the solution. The truth exposed by Layman is that North American’s are not eating enough good protein – particularly at the right time of day!

    Layman states that belly fat is the most dangerous place to have excess weight, as it is a precursor to heart attacks and strokes. Typically, men gain fat around their waist and women gain the weight around the thighs. However both women and men are seeing their waistlines expand as they age. The average weight gain for both sexes is said to a minimum of ten pounds per decade. That’s ten pounds of fat every ten years!

    Take out a measuring tape and measure your waist. If your measurement is plus 35″ plus for a woman or 40″ plus a man, you are in the danger zone. You need to reduce your waistline and melt the belly fat now. Your life may depend on it!

    Furthermore, as part of Dr. Layman’s research, he states that losing weight fast may actually cause you to become fatter. If you have gained weight slowly for a decade you can’t expect it to fall off in a few days.

    Here’s an exercise, do the math with me to see what it would actually take to lose weight fast.

    Start with some basic measures like what is a Calorie (C), a Basal Metabolic rate (BMR), Lean Muscle Mass (LMM) and Activity Burn Rate (ABR). Do you really want to lose weight fast? Let’s see?

    Calculate your LMM for your BMR x C then add your ABR… STOP – this is way too complicated! Let’s make it simple with some real numbers.

    If you eat a very lean, healthy diet (like a bird!) your calorie intake is about 1940 C for women and 2550 C for men. The truth is that most of us have been gaining an average of 10 extra pounds of fat per decade. So we are all eating far more than this minimal amount of calories per day!

    To lose weight fast, at the proposed rate of one pound per day – we need to burn an extra 3500 calories per day. To meet our goal to lose weight fast – 30lbs in 30 days, we have to eat like birds and burn about 6000 calories total per day.

    This means we would need to do 4.2 hours of intense exercise per day on top of our normal activity and average BMR burn rate.

    I guess it is possible, but not probable. Losing weight fast is definitely unlikely and it’s probably dangerous! As a professional martial artist for 35 years and life long exercise teacher, I have never seen anyone accomplish anything like this. Not even close!

    The truth is, even if you could lose weight this fast – the facts state that 99% percent of us would gain it all back – plus a couple of pounds!

    Even worse is we would create a Yo-Yo effect by losing a high percentage muscle tissue during the weight loss stage. Then when we gained the weight back, most of this new excess would be fat. The yo-yo effect makes you fatter. So for all your suffering, self discipline and self-denial you wind up worse off than if you had never started.

    Discouraged? Don’t be – I do know what does work. I know, because I did it. I found a way to lose weight fast – a real loss of 9 lbs of fat and 2 1/2 inches off my waist in six weeks.

    All without extra exercise, starving and super human discipline!

    I’m losing the belly fat on a proper metabolic diet and it is not a sham or a scam. In fact it may be the easiest, most effect plan you have ever tried.
